Shane Doyle

Shane Doyle joined the Hofstra men's basketball staff as the Coordinator of Video and Player Development in July 2024.

Doyle enters his third season on the Pride's staff and first as an assistant coach after being promoted in June 2026.

During the 2025-26 season, Doyle helped Hofstra author one of the finest campaigns in program history. The Pride captured the Coastal Athletic Association Championship and earned the program's first NCAA Tournament berth since 2001 after posting 24 victories. Hofstra's success extended beyond team accomplishments, as the Pride produced three All-CAA selections, including the conference's Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year. Hofstra became the first institution in CAA history to claim both major awards in the same season, capping a memorable year that returned the Pride to the national stage.

Prior to joining the Pride, Doyle served as an assistant men's basketball coach at Post University in Waterbury, Connecticut, during the 2023-24 season. With Doyle on the bench, the Eagles qualified for the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Tournament after posting 21 victories and advancing to the semifinals of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament. He was responsible for on-court coaching during games and practices, generating and implementing opponent scouting reports, and recruiting prospective student-athletes.

Prior to his time at Post, Doyle served as an assistant coach at Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, Iowa, from August 2021 through April 2023. During his two seasons, he implemented individual skill development plans, prepared opponent scouting reports, and assisted with recruiting and coaching responsibilities. While earning his master's degree at Wagner College from 2018 through 2021, Doyle served as the director of men's basketball operations, overseeing the program's day-to-day operations, including travel arrangements and video coordination. Doyle also served as an assistant coach at Putnam Science Academy from 2016-18 and at Bridgewater State University from 2014-16.

Doyle earned a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism from Quinnipiac University in 2014, where he also served as a team manager for the men's basketball program.
