Evan Malings

Evan Malings is in his 21st year as Hofstra’s head athletic trainer in 2022-23, coordinating all aspects of the medical care of Hofstra student-athletes. Malings also supervises a staff of seven assistant athletic trainers and works directly with the Hofstra Men's Basketball program.

Malings came to Hofstra in 2003 after 14 years as the head athletic trainer at Long Island University-C.W. Post. Malings began his career as an athletic trainer at the Long Island Sports and Rehabilitation Center in Rockville Centre, New York, in 1985. He then served as an assistant athletic trainer at the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Great Neck, New York, from August 1988 until taking over at C.W. Post. 

A 1988 graduate of SUNY-Cortland with a degree in physical education, Malings was a four-year member of the lacrosse team and also wrestled for one year.

Malings and his wife, Terri, have two children and reside in Levittown, New York.
