John Galanoudis is in his first season as a volunteer assistant with the Hofstra Baseball program in 2017. He joins the staff after spending the the last year and a half as an assistant coach at St. Thomas Aquinas College in Dobbs Ferry, New York.
At St. Thomas, Galanoudis served as the first base coach, assistant hitting coach and strength and conditioning coach, helping the Spartans to a 37-17 record and a NCAA East Region semfinal appearance in 2016.Â
Galanoudis was a four-year letterwinner at Molloy College in Rockville Centre, New York. He posted a career batting average of .308 with 188 hits, 110 RBIs, and six home runs in 175 games for the Lions. He was a three-time All-East Coast Conference selection. Off the field, Galanoudis served a three-year term as the East Coast Conference representative to the NCAA Division II National Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), providing the student-athlete's voice on the NCAA Convention Floor regarding legislation and other key issues affecting Division II student-athletes.Â
After graduating from Molloy with a degree in history, Galanoudis signed a professional contract with the Las Vegas Train Robbers of the Pecos League of Professional Baseball Clubs. In his one season, Galanoudis posted a .280 batting average with two home runs and 15 RBIs.Â
Galanoudis, a Farmingdale, New York, native, has been involved in hitting instruction, camps, and clinics around Long Island and has worked with various Long Island amateur baseball organizations. In 2016 Galanoudis managed the New York Cardinals of the North Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League to a 22-10 record and coached the West Division in the 2016 NACBL All-Star Game. He is also an ISSA certified strength and conditioning coach.Â
