Â

One of the most significant symbols of unity for an athlete is displayed in college locker rooms. It is where college athletes gather with their teammates to celebrate, cry, and prepare for victory as one.
Inside a locker room, coaches shape young minds to be leaders, and teach discipline and grit.
Â
The locker room is the most critical place for a coach to emphasize acceptance and inclusion, and create an environment for all who play our sports to feel that they are important. Our athletes come to us from a variety of life experiences. As coaches, it is our job to send leaders into the world even after the whistle.Â
Â
As leaders and shapers of young minds, we have to work to ensure that the locker room's lessons are carried into a player's life and community. The locker room is the best place for a coach to show their commitment to not allow racism to live inside their programs.Â
Â
The "No Locker for Racism" campaign asks student-athletes, coaches, and administrators to take a pledge to eradicate racism in college sports. We don't have all the answers to fix what's been broken for so long. However, we must pledge to do our part in total acceptance, understanding, and empathy regardless of human differences.

Hofstra University supports an environment of open, honest communications, and encourages community members to approach appropriate University personnel in instances where they believe violations of policies or standards have occurred.
In situations where you prefer to place a report on an anonymous basis or through an outside party, Hofstra has implemented the EthicsPoint hotline. This comprehensive and confidential reporting tool, administered by a third party unaffiliated with Hofstra, is intended to assist the University and all members of its community to address campus climate concerns and to promote a positive working and learning environment.
The information you provide through this hotline will be shared with the appropriate University personnel, on an anonymous basis if you should choose. While you may choose to make an anonymous report, please know that by not revealing your name, it may limit the University's ability to investigate or resolve your concern.
This hotline supplements regular University reporting avenues, and members of the Hofstra community are encouraged to use it, whenever necessary.
