Biography

Former Student-Athlete Spotlight - Robin (Kammerer) Conversano

Robin (Kammerer) Conversano is a member of the Hofstra Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2015. A standout goalkeeper on the field hockey team from 1989 through 1992, in addition to being a midfielder on the women's lacrosse team in 1992 and 1993, she holds the Hofstra Field Hockey career record for saves and ranks third all-time in NCAA Division I history with 1,139. Her single season total of 396 saves in 1990 is a school record and is also the third-highest total in NCAA Division I history.In addition to holding the single season saves records, she also ranks third and fourth in single season saves with 349 in 1991 and 279 in 1992. Conversano earned All-East Coast Conference accolades in 1990 and 1991, and was a Mideast Region All-America selection in 1992.  Conversano was the recipient of the Dr. Sylvia J. Giallombardo Award for outstanding achievement in physical education and athletics in 1992 and the Dr. Nathalie J. Smith Award as Hofstra's Female Athlete of the Year in 1993.

Where Do You Live: Huntington, NY

Favorite Memory of Hofstra: My favorite memory of Hofstra would have to be game day. It was always a day full of energy and excitement.  Traveling to away games was the most fun with my teammates who were great friends.  We had the opportunity to visit many campuses and have great experiences.

What You Miss Most About Hofstra: What I miss the most about Hofstra is the opportunity to play sports on a competitive level.  No matter what happened-good or bad-in a day, there was always that time where I was able to be with my friends and play hockey or lacrosse.  Playing for Hofstra was an experience I will always treasure. I wish I could go back and do it all over again!  Thank you, Hofstra for the opportunity and memories.
