Hofstra Rallies For Road Win At Yale

New Haven, CT - Amy Meadows' goal with 1:12 remaining capped a three-goal Hofstra comeback, with the final two coming 1:45 apart as the Pride rallied for a 3-2 win over Yale Thursday night at Reese Stadium.

The win was Hofstra's first of the season and moved the Pride's record to 1-3-1 on the season. Yale dropped to 2-3 on the season with its second consecutive loss.

The Bulldogs came out of the gate fast, scoring just 44 seconds into the contest as Cindy Yang sent in a pass from Anita Thorvallsdottir for a 1-0 lead. Yale would double the lead at 10:17 when Phebe Ryan scored an unassisted tally after picking up a deflected ball in the box.

The Pride got on the board 1:34 before the half as Samantha Brett took advantage of a bad clearing pass and lofted a shot from just inside the 18-yard box that tucked in under the cross bar for her first career goal.

The score would remain 2-1 until 87:03 when Meadows made a great run down the right side and sent a perfect service into the box that found Emma Johnson cutting in from the left side for the tying goal. Hofstra wasn't about to settle for the draw and at 88:48 Meadows sent in the rebound of a Hailey Moschitta shot for the game-winner.

Lilly Bailey made two saves for the Pride, while Isabel Willems had two stops for the Bulldogs.

Hofstra returns to action next Thursday, September 10 at FDU.
