Hempstead, NY - Four Hofstra players finished with double-digit kills as the Pride completed the weekend sweep over Hampton to begin CAA play on Saturday afternoon at the David S. Mack Physical Education Center.
Set scores were 25-16, 25-23 and 25-21. Hofstra's record improves to 7-3 (2-0), while Hampton falls to 2-9 (0-2).
Constanza Perez Sain once again led the way for the Pride with 12 kills, marking her sixth match this season with kills in the double digits. Geovanna Gonçalves Rocha and
Julia Amorim both set career-highs with 10 kills each, while
Beatriz Braga also added 10 and
Maria Afonso contributed nine of her own. Gonçalves Rocha paced the Pride with five blocks.
Freshman
Sonja Rundcrantz recorded a career-high 39 assists for the Pride, marking her sixth match this season with at least 20 assists, and her second-straight with at least 36. She leads Hofstra with 220 assists on the season.
Hofstra will be on the road next week to face Long Island rival Stony Brook for a two-match set on Friday and Saturday. Both matches begin at 6:30 p.m. and will air on FloCollege.

- Hofstra moved to a perfect 8-0 all-time against Hampton. All eight matches have occurred since 2022, and the Pride have won six consecutive matches in sweeps.
