Hofstra Battles Seton Hall To Scoreless Draw

Hempstead, NY - Hofstra and Seton Hall battled to a scoreless draw Thursday night at Captains Field in the final non-conference game of the season for the Pride. In a defensive battle, the Pride had more scoring chances and recorded the game's only shot on goal.

The Pride dropped to 1-5-2 on the season with the tie, while Seton Hall remains undefeated at 4-0-2.

The first half saw each team take one shot. Things picked up in the second half as both teams took eight shots. The Hofstra defense kept the Pirates out of the box, with nearly all of the Seton Hall shots coming from distance.

The Pride's opportunities came from inside or just outside the 18-yard box. The Pride's best opportunities came on the same sequence as Hailey Moschitta put a shot on goal that was saved by Seton Hall's Katherine Kleinsmith. The rebound went to Marika Svensson, who put her shot over the crossbar.

Hofstra is back home Sunday for its CAA opener against Towson. Game time is 1 p.m. at Captains Field.
