Hofstra Falls At Sacred Heart

Fairfield, CT - Shea Kelleher scored two first half goals as Sacred Heart posted a 2-0 victory over Hofstra Sunday afternoon at Park Ave. Field. The Pioneers improved to 5-0-0 on the season with the win. 

Sacred Heart opened the scoring at 38:10 with a penalty kick goal from Kelleher. Kelleher added a second goal 26 seconds before halftime with Alexandra Riehl notching the assist. That would cap the scoring in the game, although each team had scoring chances in the second half with one shot on goal for the Pride and two for the Pioneers.

Kyran Thievon made three saves for the Pioneers in 62 minutes of action. Casey Mulligan did not face a shot on goal over the final 28 minutes. Lilly Bailey made two saves for the Pride. 

Hofstra (0-3-1) returns to action Thursday night when it travels to Yale for a 7 p.m. contest.

Notes:
-Sacred Heart held a 10-9 advantage in shots and a 4-3 edge in shots on goal.
-Hofstra held a 12-2 advantage in corner kicks. 
-Hofstra is 1-1 all-time against Sacred Heart.
-Hailey Moschitta and Alexia Des Croisselles each had two shots for the Pride.
