Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University women's soccer team kicks off the 2026 campaign Saturday afternoon at Saint Joseph's. Game time at Sweeney Field in Philadelphia is set for 4 p.m. The game will not be live streamed, but live statistics can be found at GoHofstra.com/coverage.

The Pride returns 14 players from their 6-5-7 team from a season ago and welcomes 13 newcomers to the squad. The top returning scorers for the Pride are defender Alexia Des Croisselles and forward Hailey Moschitta, who each had two goals last season. Preseason All-CAA Honorable Mention selection Sasha McTiffin heads up a defensive unit that also returns Emma Johnson, Jessica Martin and Jill Conlon. Goalkeeper Lilly Bailey is also back after making 17 starts last season, solidifying an experienced back line. The midfield returns Amy Meadows, Carly-Ann Dziewirz, and Alexia Bromfield, while Maggie Peterson (1 assist in 2025), Kendyl Peterson, and Jadyn Hsu join Moschitta as returning forwards. Goalkeeper Marisa Dambach also returns for the Pride. 

Head Coach Simon Riddiough, who is entering his 21st season at the helm, has a talented group of newcomers to integrate including transfers Marika Svensson (Concord), Olivia Jungkunst (Army West Point), and Samantha Brett (Binghamton). Chloe Letocart, Ellie McGilvray, Ryann Zydor, and Karina Goetter will look to contribute on defense, while Daniek Tiemersma, Ciara Whyte, Audrey Rogan, and Mia Claro will add to the midfield. Briana Ciccone adds forward depth, while Jaylene Rondon gives the Pride another keeper. 

Saint Joseph's opened their season Wednesday night with a 3-2 win over Drexel. The Hawks rallied from a 2-0 deficit to pick up the win. Juliette Muro scored the game-winner and also added an assist. Sarah Fisher also tallied a goal and an assist. 

This will be the sixth meeting between the schools, with the Pride holding a 5-0-0 series advantage. Hofstra picked up the win at home last season, winning the season opener by a 2-1 score on Moschitta's goal with seven seconds remaining. 

The Pride is 18-14-1 all-time in season openers. 

Following Saturday's game, the Pride returns home to host Columbia Thursday night at Captains Field. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
