Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University Department of Athletics continued its strong academic performance in the latest NCAA Academic Progress Rate (APR) report, with nine programs earning NCAA Public Recognition Awards.
The NCAA Public Recognition Award goes to teams earning multiyear Academic Progress Rates in the top 10% of all squads in their respective sports.
The nine programs earning public recognition awards are men's basketball, men's cross country, men's tennis, men's track and field, women's cross country, women's golf, women's lacrosse, women's track and field, and volleyball. All nine programs earned perfect scores of 1,000.
Nine is a Hofstra-record for perfect 1,000 scores in a single year. Previously, Hofstra had seven on a pair of occasions most recently in 2023-24.Â
Men's basketball has had a perfect 1,000 multiyear APR in six consecutive reports, men's tennis in five consecutive reports, women's cross country in 10 consecutive reports, women's golf in five consecutive reports, women's lacrosse in three consecutive reports, women's track and field in five consecutive reports, and volleyball in each of the last two reports.
Hofstra, which had the second-most teams in the CAA to earn the honor, was also one of only four schools in the league to receive the award in men's basketball.
