Noell Maerz was a letterman for Hofstra football in 1990 and 1991 and a member of the 1990 Lambert Bowl Championship team as well as the NCAA Division III Eastern Regional Championship team. 

After missing the 1990 campaign due to injury, Maerz saw action under center in five games during the 1991 season. He completed 13 of 23 passes for 130 yards and no interceptions. His best game came against Bucknell, where he completed five passes for 48 yards. His longest pass of the season was a 19-yard completion versus Lafayette.  

During his Hofstra career, the Pride posted a combined 20-3 record. Maerz's commitment to his team and his University remains an enduring part of Hofstra football history. 

A native of Lansdale, Pennsylvania, Maerz earned his degree from Hofstra in 1997, and was a bond broker at Euro Brokers, Inc.
