Christine Dannenfelser was outstanding for the Pride with a career-high-tying six ground balls, four caused turnovers, and a draw control in a 15-4 road loss for the Hofstra women's lacrosse team to #12 Stony Brook on Friday evening at LaValle Stadium.
The ground ball total was the most for a Hofstra individual since March 21, 2025 and is the second-most in a game by a player in the CAA this season.
The loss was Hofstra's first conference loss of the season and drops the Pride's record to 9-6 overall and 5-1 in CAA play. Stony Brook improved to 13-2 and 6-0 in league action. The defeat also ended the Pride's four-game win streak.
Nikki Mennella had three points on two goals and one assist for the Pride.
Madeleine Rudolph led Hofstra with draw controls.
Isabella Caporuscio had five goals for the Seawolves.
Luchianna Cardello tallied eight saves for Hofstra, while Natalia Alterbrando had two for Stony Brook.
