Cruz Davis had 30 points and
German Plotnikov added 17 as third-seeded Hofstra cruised past sixth-seeded William & Mary, 92-61, in the quarterfinals of the 2026 Air Force Reserve CAA Men's Basketball Championship at CareFirst Arena Sunday night. The Pride, which did not trail in the game, advances to the semifinals Monday night (8:30 p.m.), where it will take on seventh-seeded Towson. The game will air on CBS Sports Network.
Hofstra (21-10) improved to 22-10 with the victory, its fifth in a row. William & Mary ends its season with a 20-12 mark.
Hofstra started fast with back-to-back three-pointers from Plotnikov to open a 6-0 lead 1:53 into the contest. After a William & Mary basket, Davis made a three of his own for a 9-2 lead with 17:34 remaining. The Tribe would whittle the Hofstra lead down to one, 15-14, with 13:02 to go on Chase Lowe's layup. Hofstra would go on a 7-2 run with three points from Preston Edmead to extend the lead back to six, 22-16. The Pride would close the half on a 28-17 run to take a 50-33 lead into halftime.
The second half was all Hofstra as the Pride outscored the Tribe, 42-28, over the final 20 minutes. Davis had 12 second half points to help the Pride lead grow to as many as 36 (90-54) late in the contest. The Tribe did not get closer than 15 points in the second half, which occurred after the first basket of the stanza.
Davis shot 9-15 from floor and was 5-9 from three-point range, and also added a team-high five assists and two steals. Plotnikov was also 5-9 from long distance and shot 6-10 overall. Edmead finished with 13 points, while Biggie Patterson had 10 points and 12 rebounds. Silas Sunday also had 12 rebounds and added seven points.
Jo'el Emanuel paced William & Mary with 16 points and eight rebounds.

-Hofstra moved to 30-18 all-time against William & Mary.
-The Pride is now 23-23 all-time at the CAA Championship.
-Hofstra will be making its 12th appearance in the CAA Semifinals
-Patterson's 12 rebounds matched his season-high and the double-double was his fifth of the season.
-Davis moved into 36th place on the Hofstra scoring list with 1,120 points.
-Hofstra tied its season high with 14 three-pointers.
