Hofstra Remains Unbeaten In CAA After Road Win At Northeastern

Brookline, MA - Alexia Des Croisselles' second half goal snapped a 1-1 tie and gave Hofstra a 2-1 CAA victory over Northeastern Sunday at Parsons Field. The win kept the Pride undefeated in league play.

Hofstra moved to 3-5-4 overall and 2-0-2 in the CAA with the win snapping a string of two consecutive draws. Northeastern slipped to 4-5-3 overall and 2-1-1 in conference.

The Pride started quickly as Alexia Bromfield scored 2:32 into the game for a 1-0 lead. Amy Meadows had the assist on the goal as Bromfield came in unmarked and sent a shot past Eliza Teplow. Northeastern tied the score just about 30 minutes later as Ava Gialanella sent a free kick through the wall and past keeper Lilly Bailey for her second of the season.

The Pride would notch the game winner at 57:43 as Marika Svensson's corner kick was headed in by Des Croisselles. It was her first goal of the season.

Northeastern tried for the equalizer but was held in check by the Pride defense. The Huskies managed just one shot on goal in the second half, which was easily saved by Bailey.

Hofstra returns home Thursday night to host William & Mary. Game time at Captains Field is set for 7 p.m.
