Hempstead, NY - In a rematch of the 2025 CAA Championship match, Hofstra beats Campbell in straight-sets as the Pride move to 5-0 in CAA play on Friday evening at the David S. Mack Physical Education Center.
Set scores were 25-23, 25-16 and 25-12. Hofstra's record improves to 10-3 (5-0), while Campbell falls to 5-9 (1-2). The Pride have won six matches in a row.
Four Hofstra players finished with at least seven kills, including
Beatriz Braga, who recorded nine and led the Pride for the second-straight match. Geovanna Gonçalves Rocha again paced Hofstra with eight blocks to go along with her seven kills.
Constanza Perez Sain (eight) and
Julia Amorim (seven) also helped lead the way in kills.
Sonja Rundcrantz (14) each finished with double-digit assists. Rundcrantz leads Hofstra with 268 assists on the season.
The Pride finished the match on a 34-12 run, including a 9-0 run to end the second set. They also held Campbell to just a .024% hitting percentage, a season-low for Hofstra opponents. Coming into the match, the Pride ranked first in the CAA in opponent hit percentage (.162%). The Camels were held to a negative hitting percentage in both the second (-.053%) and third (-.047%) sets.
Hofstra will look to complete the season sweep against Campbell tomorrow. The match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. and will air on FloCollege.
Notes
- Hofstra is 5-1 all-time against Campbell with all six matches occurring since the 2023 campaign. The Pride swept the season series in both 2023 and 2024. The Camels last visited Hempstead in 2023 with Hofstra earning wins in three sets and five sets.
- With the Pride's win, Hofstra has had at least a six-match win streak in 25 of the last 32 seasons.
- Hofstra is 5-0 in CAA play for the first time since 2022.
