Fairfield, Conn. –
Luci Hollister posted a season-high 10 saves for the Hofstra field hockey team, but the Pride dropped a 4-0 CAA contest on the road to conference newcomers Fairfield from University Field. The Pride now sits at 2-7 overall and 0-3 in the conference, and the Stags improve to 5-5 overall and 2-1 in league play.
Despite Hollister's heroics between the posts, Fairfield was all over the Pride from the opening whistle, scoring the first goal seven minutes into the contest. The Stags added a pair of goals in the third quarter before adding its fourth and final tally of the afternoon in an empty net situation with 1:09 remaining in regulation.
Rylee LaLoup led Fairfield with two goals in the contest, and Kylie Corcoran and Konni Hoffmann also scored in the win. Paige Jackson recorded one save in her third win of the season.
Hofstra returns to Cindy Lewis Stadium on Sunday, October 4, with a 3 p.m. contest versus UAlbany.
