Hofstra Plays To 1-1 Draw At Drexel

Philadelphia, PA - Ben Schulz scored on a penalty kick five minutes into the second half to give Hofstra a 1-0 lead but Drexel answered with just under six minutes to play as the Pride and Dragons played to a 1-1 draw Saturday at the Vidas Athletic Complex.

Hofstra moved to 7-2-4 overall and 2-1-3 in the CAA with the tie. The Dragons dropped to 5-5-2 overall and 2-3-1 in the CAA.

A defensive first half saw each team take three shots without a goal. That changed 4:58 into the second half when Jordan Hoey drew a foul in the box to earn the penalty kick. Schulz lined up at the spot and sent a shot into the left side of the goal for the 1-0 lead.

The Hofstra defense kept Drexel at bay, holding the Dragons without a shot on goal until the 85th minute when Morgan Worsfold-Gregg sent a ball into the box that found the head of Daniel Frye, who sent the shot into the back of the net for the equalizer.

Hofstra keeper Milo Risenhoover did not record a save as the Dragons had just one shot on goal. Drexel keeper Raphael Bartell made two saves.

Hofstra returns to action next Saturday, October 17, when it hosts Monmouth at 2 p.m. The game is Hofstra's final home contest and the team will be celebrating Senior Day.
