Hofstra Brings CAA Surge Into Long Island Rivalry At Stony Brook

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra men's basketball team will stay on Long Island for both games this week as the Pride will get started with a Thursday night encounter with CAA and local rival Stony Brook. 

Tip-off from Stony Brook Arena is scheduled for 7 p.m. 

The game will air on SNY and FloCollege. WRHU will have an audio-only broadcast available on the HAWC. Links to the broadcasts and the live statistics can be found here and on the men's basketball schedule page on GoHofstra.com. 

Hofstra moved to 13-4 overall and a perfect 4-0 in CAA play with a 67-64 overtime victory over Monmouth this past Saturday. Preston Edmead had a career-high 24 points, Cruz Davis added 19, and Silas Sunday posted nine points and a career-high-tying 11 rebounds. 

Stony Brook is 9-9 and 1-4 in the league. The Seawolves most recently dropped a 75-71 decision to UNCW on Saturday. Erik Pratt and Rob Brown III each had 24 for SBU. 

Thursday is the 38th all-time meeting between Hofstra and Stony Brook in men's basketball. The Pride holds a commanding 28-9 lead in the all-time series. Hofstra has won four of the last seven and nine of the last 13 meetings between the teams.
