Easton, PA - The Hofstra men's golf team earned a 14th-place team finish as play concluded after two rounds at the Abarta Coca-Cola Collegiate Invitational, hosted by Lafayette College, from Northampton Country Club on Monday. The Pride finished at 616 (+40), ahead of Lafayette College and Niagara.
Jacob Vazquez was the top finisher for Hofstra, tying for 9th in the 101-player field with a two-round score of 144 (E).
Gavin Clarke tied for 49th at 153 (+9), following rounds of 76-77, while
Vincent Apostolico was tied for 60th at 155 (+11).
Joseph Giamanco tied for 81st at 160 (+16), following rounds of 78-82.
Eugene Kang was in 95th place at 164 (+20) and
Charlie Ferrise finished 99th at 168 (+24).
Kai-Jun Huang of Merrimack won the individual title in a playoff against Millersville's Timothy Peters after both golfers tied after two-rounds at 140 (-4). Sacred Heart took the team title with a two-round score of 580 (+4), while Fairfield, Villanova, Holy Cross, and Millersville rounded out the top-five teams.
Hofstra returns to the course for the LIU Shark Invitational on Monday, April 14 at Brookville Country Club.
