Pride Concludes 2025 Campaign

Hempstead, NY - Nikki Mennella had three points on two goals and an assist and Luchianna Cardello posted seven saves in the season finale for the Hofstra women's lacrosse team on Saturday evening at James M. Shuart Stadium. The Pride dropped a 15-5 decision to Stony Brook to conclude the season. 

Hofstra finishes the season with a record of 9-7 and a CAA mark of 4-4. Stony Brook improved to 13-4 and 8-0 in the league. 

Angelina Sparacio got the Pride's first goal of the game with 4:14 left in the first quarter to stop a 5-0 scoring run by the Seawolves. 

Kate Lemery and Mennella would score back-to-back goals to open the second stanza for the Pride to close the gap. 

After the Pride got the final goal of the third quarter, courtesy of Mennella, Julia Harris would notch Hofstra's final goal of the game with 5:52 left in the fourth quarter. 

Harris and Sparacio each had a goal and an assist for the Pride. Christine Dannenfelser and Mennella both tallied three draw controls in the game. 

Casey Colbert had five points on three goals and two assists for Stony Brook, which also got a goal and four assists from Charlotte Wilmoth. 

NOTES
- There was a one-hour and 14-minute lightning delay in the first quarter of the game. 
- Stony Brook now leads the all-time series, 9-5.
- Mennella finished with 99 points this season. It is the second-most in a single season in program history, only eclipsed by Alyssa Parrella's 105 points in 2019. Mennella's 62 goals and 37 assists are also both good for second-most in a single season in program history (Parrella had 85 goals in 2019 and Brittain Altomare had 42 assists in 2015).
