Glen Head, NY - The Hofstra men's golf team concluded play in ninth place at the LIU Shark Invitational Tuesday afternoon from Brookville Country Club in Glen Head, New York, after shooting a low round 284 (+4). The Pride placed ninth out of the 12-team field with a three-round score of 876 (+36).
Jacob Vazquez led Hofstra tied for 16th out of the 71-player field after shooting even par on Tuesday for a three-round score of 214 (+4).
Eugene Kang finished tied for 34th at 221 (+11), following an even par third round, while
Gavin Clarke shot a low round 68 (-2) on Tuesday to finish tied for 40th at 223 (+13).
Joseph Giamanco tied for 48th at 225 (+15) following a third-round 76 (+6).
Vincent Apostolico shot a third-round 74 (+4) to tie for 55th place at 226 (+16).
Charlie Ferrise finished tied for 62nd place at 228 (+18), while
Taishi Shigaki tied for 70th at 234 (+24).
Boston College's Ben Hong took the individual title with a three-round score of 205 (-5), while Seton Hall's Patrick Kahanek finished second just one stroke behind. Boston College took the team title at 835 (-5) and Seton Hall came in second at 851 (+11).
Hofstra begins play at the Coastal Athletic Association Championship on Sunday, April 20, from Union League National Golf Club in Cape May Court House, New Jersey.
