Hofstra Heads To Bucknell Quad Sunday For Three Dual Matches

| By:
Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University wrestling team returns to action Sunday at the Bucknell Quad in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. The Pride will compete in three dual matches, including a pair of EIWA contests.

Action gets underway at 10 a.m. when Hofstra takes on Virginia (5-2) on Mat Two. The Pride will then face conference foe Morgan State (0-6) on Mat Two at 12 p.m. before concluding the day with another EIWA dual against the host Bison (0-4) on Mat One. The final match will be streamed live on ESPN+.

Hofstra enters the day with a 1-5 dual match record and a 1-0 mark in the EIWA. The Pride last wrestled a dual on December 7 against nationally ranked Wisconsin. The Pride did have several competitors at last weekend's Nassau Open with Alex Turley and an unattached Eric Shindel winning their weight classes, while Jackson Slotnick (149) was placed second, Joe Sparacio (141), Noah Tapia (149-Unattached), and Zach Reilley (157-Unattached) placed third, and Tommy Aiello (125) and Cam Ice (149-Unattached) placed fourth.

Hofstra is 2-2 all-time against Virginia but has not wrestled the Cavaliers since 2013. The Pride is 2-1 all-time against Morgan State and has won each of the last two seasons. Hofstra is 9-17 against Bucknell.

Following the Bucknell Quad, Hofstra will be off for the Holidays and return to action January 4 at the Journeymen Armbar Duals in Clifton Park, New York. The Pride will face Princeton and EIWA foe Binghamton.
