#25 Hofstra Blanks Drexel On Senior Night, Extends Win Streak To Eight

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University men's soccer team extended its nation's best winning streak to eight games and forward Daniel Burko kept up his torrid play with a pair of goals as the 25th-ranked Pride closed the regular season with a 2-0 CAA victory over Drexel at Captains Field Saturday night.

Hofstra heads into the CAA Championship with a record of 12-4-0 overall and 7-1-0 in league play. The Pride holds the top seed in the CAA North Division and will have home field throughout the championship. Drexel ends its season at 4-6-6 overall and 2-5-1 in league play.

With Hofstra celebrating Senior Night, Burko, a senior forward, delivered. He notched his 10th goal of the season at 18:22, heading in a cross from Stefano Campisi. He would complete the brace at 71:55, taking a pass from Aaron Basenach and sending in his team-leading 11th tally of the season. Campisi, a senior midfielder, recorded a second assist on the play as well.

Senior keepers Gino Cervoni and Sean Bohan split time in goal, though neither was called on to make a save as the Pride defense turned in a tremendous performance by holding the Dragons to just two shots with neither on target.

Hofstra will return to action Sunday, November 9 at 2 p.m. in a CAA Semifinal against the winner of the North Quarterfinal between No. 2 Stony Brook and No. 3 Monmouth.
