Late Heroics Salvage Draw At Loyola Maryland

Baltimore, MD - Thorhildur Thorhallsdottir scored the tying goal with 30 seconds remaining in the second half as Hofstra remained unbeaten following a 1-1 tie at Loyola Maryland Sunday afternoon. The Pride moved to 1-0-4 on the season with the tie, while the Greyhounds are 3-2-1.

The Greyhounds took a 1-0 lead late in the first half as Baylee DeSmit's free kick with 14 seconds to go slipped through the hands of Hofstra goalkeeper Mackenzie Sullivan. The score remained that way until the final minute when Loyola was whistled for a foul just outside the box. Aimee Hodgson sent the kick in and Thorhallsdottir timed her run perfectly to redirect the kick past Greyhounds keeper Brigid Mulholland and just under the crossbar.

Hofstra returns to action Thursday night at home when it hosts FDU at Hofstra Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Notes:
-Sullivan made three saves for the Pride, while Mulholland had four saves for Loyola.
-The four tie games matches the most in a single season, set by the 2022 squad.
