Brookville, NY - Hofstra freshman
Saralyn Frederick led the Pride to a first-place team finish at the 2024 LIU Fall Festival from the campus of LIU Post in Brookville, NY.
Frederick clocked a time of 19:10.70 to take second-place in the women's 5K race. Freshman
Isabella Gerena was Hofstra's second finisher, placing 3rd in 19:25.79.
Allison Reid came in fourth-place at 19:53.28 andÂ
Jackalynn Orellana in fifth at 19:57.96. FreshmanÂ
Natalie Campisi and
Avery Brawner came in seventh and eighth-place in 21:21.63 and 21:40.81.
Samantha Szabo finished in 10th in the 27-runner field in 22:06.21, while
Shavari Maharaj finished in 12th with a time of 24:27.27 and
Amanda Hinojos completed the Hofstra line-up, placing 13th in 24:53.49.
The Pride took the team title with 21 points, while hosts LIU came in 2nd with 41 points and Baruch was 3rd with 73 points. LIU's Hasnae Goulamzi claimed the individual title with a 18:44.90 finish in the women's 5K race.
The Hofstra women will be back in action on Saturday, October 5 to compete in Lehigh's Paul Short Invitational.
