Another Outstanding Non-Conference Slate Awaits Pride

9/30/2024 2:00:00 PM

Hempstead, NY - In what has become an annual staple of the non-conference slate under Head Coach Speedy Claxton, the Hofstra men's basketball team officially announced the non-conference schedule for the upcoming season today.

The 13-game slate will take the Pride up and down the Eastern Seaboard with games in seven different states or countries. Hofstra will play four of its non-conference games at home in the friendly confines of the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex.

Opening week will see the Pride play a pair of home contests with SUNY Old Westbury visiting on November 4 before a huge Friday encounter on November 8 against longtime rival Iona.

The gauntlet then begins for Hofstra as the Pride will make the very short commute to the Nassau Coliseum for the "Icons of the Game" battle against Seton Hall. It will then be an incredible close to November for the Pride as they will visit Massachusetts on November 16, Florida State on November 19, and then Houston on November 22. The end of the month of November and the first day of December will see the Pride head to The Bahamas where they will face Rice, Tarleton State, and Arkansas State in the three-day Baha Mar Hoops tournament. It will be the program's first regular season trip outside the United States since taking part in the Paradise Jam (at U.S. Virgin Islands) during the 2015-16 season.

Hofstra will be back at the Mack on December 6 for the annual "Class at the Court" game against St. Joseph's (NY).

A trio of outstanding non-conference games close the schedule for the Pride as Hofstra will head to Norfolk State on December 9 before hosting Temple in its final home non-conference game of the season on December 15. The out-of-conference schedule will conclude on December 29 when the Pride heads to Quinnipiac.
