Berlin, CT - The Hofstra men's golf team earned a 14th-place team finish as play concluded after two rounds at the Ryan T. Lee Memorial Collegiate from Shuttle Meadow Country Club in Berlin, Connecticut on Sunday. The Pride finished at 603 (+35), just seven strokes ahead of teams from Brown and Wagner.
Gavin Clarke was the Pride's top finisher, tying for 28th in the 90-player field at 146 (+4). Clarke shot rounds of 76-70.
Eugene Kang tied for 47th, following rounds of 72-77 for a two-round score of 149 (+7), while
Vincent Apostolico was tied for 71st at 153 (+11).
Joseph Giamanco tied for 74th at 155 (+13), following rounds of 80-75, while
Taishi Shigaki came in tied for 83rd at 159 (+17).Â
Army's John Heckel Jr. was the individual champion with a 136 (-6). The University of Rhode Island took the team title with a two-round score of 564 (-4), while Sacred Heart came just two strokes behind in second.Â
Hofstra returns to action September 30-October 1 at the Sacred Heart University Fall Classic.
