Farmingdale, NY - For the first time in program history, the Hofstra men's golf team competed on the Bethpage Black Course in Farmingdale, New York, for the final round of the Doc Gimmler, hosted by St. John's. It was also the first time since 1996 that the Johnnies have played on the 7,468-yard track that is widely considered to be one of the most difficult and most beautiful courses in the country.

Gavin Clarke led the Pride to a 12th-place team finish at the Doc Gimmler Tuesday. LIU took first place with a three-round team score of 859 (+15), with hosts St. John's just five strokes behind.

Clarke finished tied for 42nd at 224 (+13) following rounds of 75-68-81. He shot a career low 68 (-2) in the second round on Monday. Eugene Kang finished tied for 46th just one stroke behind Clarke overall, while freshmen Charlie Ferrise and Jacob Vazquez were tied for 55th place out of the 69-player field at 230 (+19). Taishi Shigaki, who played as an individual, finished 68th following rounds of 72-78-88, while Joseph Giamanco came in 69th.

The Hofstra men are back in action on Saturday, September 21, for the Ryan T. Lee Memorial Collegiate from Shuttle Meadow Country Club in Berlin, Connecticut.
