Gavin Clarke leads Hofstra tied for 29th after the first day of the Doc Gimmler, hosted by St. John's University on the Bethpage Red Course in Farmingdale, New York.
Clarke shot a first round 75 (+5) and career low 68 (-2) on Monday.
Jacob Vazquez and
Eugene Kang both tied for 53rd out of the 69-player field. Vazquez and Kang both shot rounds of 75-73 for a two round score of 148 (+8).
Charlie Ferrise tied for 58th place with a two-round score of 149 (+9).
Taishi Shigaki, who is playing as an individual, shot rounds of 72-78 to tie for 61st.
Joseph Giamanco is 69th entering the final round of the Doc Gimmler, after a two-round score of 160 (+20).Â
As a team, Hofstra is in 12th place after two, while Columbia (-6), Harvard, (-3), North Dakota State (-2), LIU (-2), and Connecticut (-1) make up the top-five.
