Hempstead, NY – Hofstra University Vice President and Director of Athletics Rick Cole Jr. announced today the hiring of Danaiya Byrams to the position of director of ticket sales & operations.

"We're thrilled to have Danaiya joining our staff," said Cole Jr. "We're excited to have someone with her talents, experience, and work ethic joining our department."

"I am thrilled and excited to join the Hofstra family," Byrams said. "I look forward to working with this incredible team to continue creating unforgettable memories for fans and growing the fan base. I want to thank Jerry Hubshman, Bryan Graff, and Rick Cole Jr. for their support."

Danaiya Byrams joins the Hofstra University Department of Athletics from Stony Brook University, where she was as the manager of ticket sales and services at Stony Brook University since May 2022.

Byrams directly oversaw all ticket sales and operations strategies and initiatives of the Stony Brook athletics ticket office, and she led all planning, communication, and implementation of special ticket plans, projects, promotions, and programs. Additionally, she was the direct liaison between Stony Brook and Playfly Aspire – the ticketing provider for all home Stony Brook athletic events – and she led efforts to recruit, hire, and train new ticket sales and service staffers.

Prior to her time at Stony Brook, Byrams was a member of the Health and Wellness Center at Farmingdale State College; first as a staff assistant from March through August 2021, then as a team leader from August 2021 until May 2022. Byrams collaborated with administrative personnel to maintain a patient-focused environment as a staff assistant, while she trained and managed a team of staff assistants on policies and procedures as team leader.

In addition to her experience at the college level, Byrams was a junior sales associate for group sales and service with the New York Yankees from October 2019 through August 2020, and she was a group sales associate with the Long Island Ducks from November 2018 through October 2019.

A Long Island native, Byrams graduated from SUNY Cortland in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in sport management, and she earned her master's degree in higher education from Stony Brook in 2024.
