Cynthia Zhao were named Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars, it was announced recently by the organization.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in college athletics. To earn All-American Scholar accolades, a student-athlete must be an amateur on the team's roster for the full length of the season, have played in 50% of the team's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the season nominated, and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.
Bien, who earned her bachelor's degree in public relations this Spring, had a 3.57 GPA. She played in six events, totaling 15 rounds and averaged 83.33 strokes per round. Bien shot a low round of 77 at the Hartford Hawks Invitational.Â
Jimenez, a sophomore majoring in political science and minoring in psychology, boasts a 3.77 GPA. She played in five events, totaling 11 rounds and averaged 83.36 strokes per round. Jimenez shot a low round of 77 at the Navy Fall Invitational.Â
Weyrauch graduated this Spring with a degree in accounting and a 3.94 GPA. She led the team with a low round of 69 at the FDU Invitational and played in all eight events, totaling 20 rounds. Weyrauch ranked first on the team averaging 77.85 shots per round this season.
Zhao graduated with her master's degree in computer science this Spring and a 4.0 GPA. She played in all eight events to total 20 rounds, and ranked second on the team averaging 78.30 strokes per round. Zhao shot a low round of 73 at the FDU Invitational.Â
