Gadsden Transfers To Hofstra

Hempstead, NY - Hofstra University Head Men's Basketball Coach Speedy Claxton announced today that TJ Gadsden has transferred to Hofstra and will join the Pride this upcoming season. 

"TJ is another strong addition to our program and one we are all excited about," commented Claxton. "He can help us in a multitude of ways on the court."

A 6-7 guard and native of Fairfax, Virginia, Gadsden spent the past two seasons at Canisius University after starting his career at George Mason University. 

Over the past two seasons with the Golden Griffins, Gadsden played in 48 games and made 34 starts. He averaged 8.5 points, including 9.3 per game during the 2023-24 campaign. He also totaled 213 rebounds in two seasons, along with 50 assists, 29 steals, and 25 blocked shots. He scored in double figures 11 times last season and poured in a career-best 31 points against Quinnipiac during the 2022-23 season. 

In 2021-22 he played at George Mason where he played in eight games. 

Gadsden attended St. Andrew's Episcopal School and averaged 11 points and seven rebounds per game during his junior season. He earned MVP honors during his high school career and helped the team to a Mid-Atlantic Conference title.
