Elon, NC - The 2024 Coastal Athletic Association Women's Tennis Championship begins Thursday morning with 12 teams playing for the conference title at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center on Elon's campus. North Carolina A&T informed the conference of player injuries, making it unable to participate in the championship.
The tournament begins on Thursday with four first-round matches. #8 Hampton will meet #9 Hofstra at 10 a.m. and #5 Elon versus #12 Monmouth. At 2 p.m., #7 Campbell will take on #10 Towson and #6 UNCW face off against #11 Stony Brook.
The quarterfinals begin Friday at 10 a.m. when the top-seeded Delaware will face the winner of Hampton/Hofstra, and #4 Drexel will take on the winner of Elon/Monmouth. Following those matches #2 William & Mary will take on the winner of Campbell/Towson at 2 p.m. and #3 Charleston faces the winner of UNCW/Stony Brook.
Two semifinal matches are set for Saturday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m, while the championship match is slated for 2 p.m. on Sunday. Sunday's winner will earn an automatic berth to the NCAA Women's Tennis Championship.
Live scoring will be available for all matches throughout the tournament.
The Pride went 8-10 during the regular season and was 3-3 in conference play. Hofstra concluded their season posting a 6-1 win over Monmouth. Thursday's match will be the first meeting between Hofstra and Hampton this season.
