Newark, NJ - The Hofstra men's tennis team fell 6-1 to NJIT Saturday afternoon in Newark, New Jersey. With the loss, Hofstra drops to 6-10 on the season, while the Highlanders improve to 16-5 with the win.
NJIT was able to clinch the doubles point early in the match and then nearly sweep Hofstra in singles play with five wins. At the No. 5 singles slot
Matthew Garcia defeated NJIT's German Lopez Andujar in straight sets 6-4, 3-2.
Hofstra are back on the courts tomorrow afternoon for their final regular season game against Coastal Athletic Association opponent Monmouth. The match will start at 2 p.m. from the Hofstra Tennis Courts.
