Queens, NY - The Hofstra women's tennis team were defeated by St. John's Friday afternoon in Queens, New York. The Pride and Red Storm played a clinch match, with St. John's clinching the 4-1 win over Hofstra and leaving the No. 1 and No. 4 singles matches unfinished. With the loss, Hofstra drops to 6-10 overall, while the Red Storm are now 6-6.
Ava Veneziano and
Dianela Rodriguez earned a win by default at No. 3 doubles with no opponents from St. John's to play, but the Red Storm came back in the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches to win the doubles point.
Another win by default occurred for the Pride at the No. 6 singles slot where
Mary Madigan won the Pride their point. St. John's won the No. 3, 5 and 2 singles slots to clinch the win, leaving
Lea Forste-Dinell's No. 1 singles and
