Hempstead, NY – Stony Brook erased a two-run deficit with a three-run seventh inning to defeat Hofstra 3-2 in the first of a three-game Coastal Athletic Association series from Bill Edwards Stadium. Becca Vaillancourt and
Aliya Catanzarita and an
Olivia Malinowski single,

Gabriella Sultan to make it 2-0 Pride.
With two outs and runners on second and third base, Stony Brook's Catherine Anne Kupinski evened the game at 2-2 with a two-run single over first base that stayed just inside fair territory, and they took the lead on the next at-bat with a deep single to right by Corrine Badger. Vaillancourt, Malinowski, and Catanzarita went down in order to end the Pride's seven-game CAA winning streak.
