New Providence, NJ - The Hofstra women's tennis team won their first match of the spring 2024 season, defeating Seton Hall, 4-3, Friday night.
Lea Forste-Dinell,
Dianela Rodriguez,
Kaitlyn Ferguson and
Sabira Mohamed all won their singles matches against the Pirates. The win improved Hofstra's record to 1-2 on the season.
Forste-Dinell defeated Anastasia Sereda at No. 1 singles and Rodriguez also came away victorious in No. 3 singles also with a score of, 6-1, 6-1. Ferguson defeated Niamh Campbell in straight sets, 7-5, 6-4. Mohamed came back in No. 6 singles, after a deficit in the second set to defeat Arabella Moen 6-3, 3-6, 6-0.
In doubles,
Deniz Soyer and
Lea Forste-Dinell dominated at No. 1, topping Aina Plana Ventosa and Anastasia Sereda, 6-4.
The Pride is back in action Sunday, February 4, versus Marist.
