Pride Closes Home Slate Looking To Continue Last Season Push

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra men's basketball team will play its final home game of the season tomorrow when it hosts Elon. The game is being presented by Apple Bank. 

There will be an Apple Bank Hofstra branded long-sleeve shirt giveaway for the first 2,500 fans in attendance!

Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. from the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex. Prior to the game, at 6:40 p.m. The program will hold its annual "Senior Day" ceremony and honor Myles Wilmoth, Jacco Fritz, Bryce Washington, Darlinstone Dubar, and Tyler Thomas

Hofstra picked up an enormous 69-57 win over Drexel on Thursday to improve to 17-11 overall and 10-5 in CAA play. Tyler Thomas posted 28 points and five steals to lead the way, while Darlinstone Dubar added 13 points and seven rebounds and Jaquan Carlos chipped in with eight points, 10 rebounds, and five assists. 

Elon is 12-16 overall and 5-10 in conference action after a narrow 61-58 loss at Northeastern on Thursday. Nick Dorn had 14 points for the Phoenix, while Sam Sherry added 11 points and 10 rebounds. 


Hofstra is 12-5 all-time against Elon and the Pride has won seven of the last nine games in the series with the Phoenix. The first-ever meeting between the teams occurred during the 2009-10 campaign with Hofstra earning a 70-46 win in the NIT Season Tip-Off as the squads met prior to becoming conference rivals.
