Newark, NJ - Kaitlyn Ferguson had the lone singles victory for the Pride in a 6-1 loss at NJIT Sunday at the Naimoli Center. The Pride also won one of the three doubles flights.
Hofstra slipped to 3-4 on the season with the loss, while the Highlanders improved to 6-1.
The Pride won the first completed doubles flight with a 6-2 win by Deniz Soyer and Lea Forste-Dinell over Sofia Pinedo and Sandra Dzhambazov at No. 1. However, the Highlanders would win the next two flights to take the point.
NJIT would win the first three singles flights to take a 4-0 lead in the match before Ferguson notched the win at the No. 5 flight, rallying from a first set loss to Paula Menendez Alvarez to take a 0-6, 6-4, 10-3 win.
Hofstra is back in action March 2 at Columbia.
