Hofstra Heads To Journeymen Collegiate Classic Sunday

Hempstead, NY - The second week of the college wrestling season sees Hofstra head to the Journeymen Collegiate Classic at Freedom High School in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on Sunday, November 10. The action gets underway at 9 a.m. The event will be streamed live on FloWrestling and live brackets will be available at FloArena. Links for both can be found above or on the wrestling schedule page on GoHofstra.com.

Hofstra is one of 21 teams participating in the Journeymen Collegiate Classic, joining #10 Cornell, #11 Lehigh, #12 Arizona State, #18 North Carolina State, #19 Illinois, #28 Penn, Campbell, Pitt-Johnstown, Duke, VMI, Army, Harvard, California Baptist, Pitt, Binghamton, Buffalo, Franklin And Marshall, LIU, Sacred Heart, and Lock Haven.

The Pride will be sending 14 attached wrestlers - Teague Strobel (125), Dylan Acevedo-Switzer (125), Chase Liardi (133), Justin Hoyle (141), Joe Sparacio (141), Noah Tapia (149), Alex Turley (149), Kyle Mosher (157), Jurius Clark (157), Frank Volpe (157), Greyson Harris (174), Ross McFarland (184), Nikolas Miller (197), and Danny Church (285) - and one unattached competitor - Will Conlon (197). 

Liardi, Tapia, Mosher, Clark, McFarland, and Miller will each be making their season debuts after not competing at the Princeton Open last weekend. Mosher is ranked No. 24 by WrestleStat, while McFarland is No. 33. Conlon, who wrestled unattached last week as well, is off to a 3-0 start and won the 197-pound class at Princeton. 

Following the Journeymen Collegiate Classic, Hofstra will return home to host Duke, The Citadel, and Sacred Heart on Saturday, November 16. The Pride will take on Duke at 11:30 a.m., The Citadel at 1:30 p.m., and Sacred Heart at 3:30 p.m. It will be Hofstra's Alumni Day with a recognition ceremony taking place during the 3:30 match.
