Hempstead, NY - Hofstra University Head Men's Basketball Coach
Speedy Claxton continued to showcase his strong recruiting as today the program announced the addition of Preston Edmead. Edmead will join the Pride and begin his academic and athletic career with the Pride in the fall of 2025.
"Preston is a highly-talented and highly-skilled player that will be a huge asset to our program," said Claxton. "We are thrilled to add someone with his skill set to our roster and look forward to his development here at Hofstra."
Edmead, a native of Deer Park, New York, attends The Williston Northampton School in Easthampton, Massachusetts.
A 6-1 guard, Edmead averaged 23.9 points per game for Deer Park High School before moving on to Williston Northampton. In his first year at Williston Northampton, he was named to the All-NEPSAC Class A team and the All Western New England Prep First Team. Edmead averaged 21.9 points per game as a junior.
Edmead comes from an athletic family as his brother, Aaren, played basketball at Wagner and North Carolina A&T, another brother, Malik, plays basketball at Merrimack, and his father, John, played basketball at Dowling.
