Hofstra (8-4-6) advanced to the semifinals with a thrilling 1-0 overtime victory over Delaware in the opening round Thursday night. Millie Davies headed in the game-winning goal following a flurry in front of the Delaware goal 2:40 into the extra session. Synne Danielsen made three saves for the Pride, which is making its eighth consecutive CAA Championship appearance and the 21st in program history. Hofstra has advanced to the semifinals 19 times and has won eight CAA titles, the last in 2022.

Monmouth was the regular season co-champion with Stony Brook and earned the top seed via tie-breaker. The Hawks are 11-2-5 on the season and have won two consecutive outings.

The teams met in the Pride's regular season with Monmouth posting a 3-2 victory at Captains Field. The Hawks Liza Suydam scored her second goal of the game 18 minutes into the second half to snap a 2-2 tie.

Overall, Hofstra owns a 4-2-3 record against Monmouth. The teams have met twice in the CAA Championship. In 2022, the teams tied, 1-1, before Hofstra advanced on penalty kicks. Last season, the Hawks defeated the Pride in the semifinals, 2-1.
