Pride Rallies For Road Victory; Earns Fourth Consecutive Win

Buies Creek, NC - Clara Bal was outstanding with 18 kills and a .405 attack percentage in leading the Hofstra volleyball team to a five-set win over Campbell on Saturday afternoon at Gilbert Craig Gore Arena. The victory was the fourth straight for Hofstra. 

Izadora Stedile added 14 kills and 15 digs for the Pride, which also got 26 digs from Chiara Cucco

Hofstra improved to 8-6 overall and 4-1 in league play, while Campbell dropped to 2-13 and 0-5 in CAA action. Set scores were 22-25, 25-23, 22-25, 25-21, and 15-9 in favor of the Pride. 

The Pride trailed twice in the match, evening the match at one set each after two and then with their backs against the wall totalling 15 kills in the fourth set to even the match at two. In the final stanza, Hofstra held Campbell to a negative hitting percentage to earn the important road victory. 

Ellie Pamatat posted 41 assists and six digs for Hofstra, while Beatriz Alves chipped in with 11 assists in her first extended action after returning from an injury. Constanza Perez Sain notched 14 kills, five blocks, and four digs for the Pride. 

Gwen Wolkow had 23 kills and 10 digs for Campbell, which also got 22 assists and 16 digs from Maddie Converse. 

The series will conclude on Sunday with a 12 p.m. match. 

NOTES
- Hofstra is now 3-0 all-time against Campbell after earning a pair of wins over the Camels in 2023. 
- The 26 digs and three service aces by Cucco were both new season-highs. 
- Stedile's double-double was her team-leading fifth of the season. 
- Bal led Hofstra in kills for a team-high sixth time. 
- Cucco is now 18 digs shy of becoming only the third player in program history with at least 1,600 digs in their career. 
- Perez Sain tied her season-high with five blocks.
