Hofstra And Drexel Play To 1-1 Draw

Philadelphia, PA - Dagny Run Petursdottir's early second half goal knotted the score at one and neither team would capitalize the rest of the way as Hofstra and Drexel played to a 1-1 draw in a Coastal Athletic Association game at Vidas Field.

Hofstra moved to 4-2-5 overall and 2-1-1 in the CAA with the tie. The five draws is a new single season record for the Pride. Drexel is 3-5-3 overall and 1-1-2 in league action.

The Dragons got on the scoreboard first as Tori Yost floated a long shot over Mackenzie Sullivan and just under the crossbar at the 29:18 mark. It was Yost's first of the season.

Petursdottir netted the equalizer 2:28 into the second half as her shot from just outside of the 18-yard box went over the head of Drexel keeper Joella Chase before hitting the crossbar and bouncing over the goal line. The goal was Petursdottir's third of the season.

Sullivan had two saves for the Pride in the opening 45 minutes. Synne Danielsen made one stop in the second half. Chase recorded two saves for the Dragons.

Hofstra returns home Sunday for a 3:30 meeting with Long Island and CAA-rival Stony Brook.
