Davies Scores Twice, Danielsen Makes Four Saves In Shutout Win Over Tribe

Williamsburg, VA - Millie Davies scored both Hofstra goals and freshman goalkeeper Synne Danielsen made four saves for her first career shutout as the Pride posted a 2-0 Coastal Athletic Association victory over William & Mary Sunday at Martin Family Stadium at Albert-Daly Field.

Hofstra moved to 7-3-6 overall and 5-2-2 in the CAA with the victory. The Tribe slipped to 8-9 overall and 3-6 in league play. 

Davies scored both goals in a span of 3:54 in the first half. Her first goal at the 11:01 mark came on a penalty kick following a foul in the box by William & Mary. She added the second at the 14:55 mark, taking a pass from Aimee Hodgson before spinning and firing in a blast from 25-yards. 

Danielsen stopped three shots in the first half and added one in the fourth to earn the clean sheet victory. William & Mary goalkeeper Jazzy Lorenz made two saves on the day.

Hofstra will return home for its final game of the regular season on Thursday, October 24 versus Monmouth. Kickoff at Captains Field is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Notes:
-Davies' brace was the second of her career.
-Hofstra is 10-13-4 all-time against William & Mary.
-William & Mary held a 16-5 advantage in shots, but four of the Pride's five shots were on goal.
