Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra men's basketball team returns home to the friendly confines of the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex on Thursday when the Pride hosts local rival Stony Brook. The game is being presented by Island Federal Credit Union.
The second match-up of the season between the CAA rivals will tip at 7 p.m. from the Mack Sports Complex.

It will be Academic Excellence Night at the Mack as throughout the evening, the Pride's nearly 400 student-athletes will be recognized for their outstanding academic achievements over the past two semesters.

Hofstra has won three of its last four games to move its record to 11-10 overall and 4-4 in CAA play. The Pride dropped a narrow 81-78 decision at Monmouth on Saturday despite 24 points, seven rebounds, and four assists from
Tyler Thomas and 21 points and six rebounds from
Darlinstone Dubar.
The Pride won the first meeting between the teams on January 22 by the score of 80-74.
Darlinstone Dubar tied his career-high with 30 points and added 11 rebounds, while
Jaquan Carlos established a new career-high with 23 points and added six assists. Hofstra rallied from a five-point halftime deficit by outscoring the Seawolves by 11 in the second stanza.
Stony Brook has an identical 11-10, 4-4 record as Hofstra with the Seawolves coming in having won two straight games since dropping a home game to the Pride on January 22. Stony Brook defeated UNCW, 86-78, in overtime on Saturday as Tyler Stephenson-Moore had 22 points and six rebounds.
Thursday is the 34th all-time meeting between Hofstra and Stony Brook in men's basketball. The Pride holds a commanding 27-6 lead in the all-time series. Hofstra has won two three straight and eight of the last nine meetings between the teams.
