Hofstra Wrestles At F&M Open Friday, Hosts No. 7 North Carolina State Sunday

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University wrestling team will have a busy weekend with two competitions on the slate, starting Friday at the Davd H. Lehman Franklin & Marshall Open and concluding Sunday at home against the seventh ranked Wolfpack of North Carolina State. 

The F&M Open takes place at the Alumni Sports and Fitness Center in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and gets underway at 9 a.m. The event will be streamed live on FloWrestling with live scoring available at FloArena. The Pride's dual match against NC State will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the David S. Mack Physical Education Center. Sunday's match will stream live on the Hofstra Pride YouTube Channel and live scoring will be available as well. Links for all can be found above or on the wrestling schedule page on GoHofstra.com.

The Pride will send 17 wrestlers to the F&M Open, with 12 competing for the Pride and five additional wrestling unattached. Representing Hofstra in uniform will be Dylan Acevedo (125), Cam Ice (141), Dylan Zenion (149), Noah Tapia (149), Greyson Harris (165), Eric Shindel (165), Matt Rogers (165), Ericson Velasquez (184), Gavin Proffitt (197), Nikolas Miller (197), Danny Church (285), and Adrian Sans (285). Competing unattached will be Ryan Arbeit (133), Frank Volpe (157), Jake Slotnick (165), Joe Russo (165), Matthew Waddell (165). 

Following the F&M Open, the Pride (3-2) will return home to take on their third top-10 opponent of the season in North Carolina State. The Pride has won three consecutive dual meets going into the match against the Wolfpack, who are currently 9-1 overall with a dual match against No. 10 Oklahoma State on Friday night. Hofstra's probable lineup against North Carolina State will be:

The Pride is 2-3 all-time against the Wolfpack. The teams last met on January 18, 2020 with #5 NC State prevailing, 37-2, at the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex. The Wolfpack have won three straight matchups. 

After competing this weekend, the Pride will return to action on Saturday January 13 at VMI (1 p.m.) and then again on Sunday, January 14 at George Mason (1 p.m.).
