New York City, NY – The Hofstra outdoor track duo of
Jackalynn Orellana and
Samantha Szabo both set new personal best times in the 5000m at the Metropolitan Outdoor Track & Field Championships from historic Icahn Stadium in New York City.
Orellana, a second-year distance runner from Central Islip, New York, completed the 5000m in a time of 18:54.37 to finish seventh. Meanwhile, Szabo crossed the finish line at 19:34.90. A freshman from Franklin Square, New York, she finished 10th in the event.
The Hofstra women return to competition on April 14 in Providence, Rhode Island for the Friar Invitational.
