Hempstead, NY -
Katie Kelly had a career-high eight draw controls and added a pair of assists for the Pride in a narrow 10-7 loss for the Hofstra women's lacrosse team to Towson on Saturday afternoon at James M. Shuart Stadium.
The Pride closed the gap to one in the second half after facing an early three goal deficit early in the contest.
Hofstra fell to 3-7 overall and 0-2 in conference play with the loss. Towson improved to 7-3 and 2-0 in Colonial Athletic Association action.

Chloe Sedlar each tallied two assists in the game. Hofstra saw eight different players tally points in the game.
The Tigers scored the first three goals of the game before
Megan Flannery got Hofstra on the scoreboard via a free-position goal. Towson would open up a 5-1 lead before back-to-back Pride goals from
Rachel Graff and Mennella made it 5-3 with 4:32 left in the half.
After Towson took a three-goal lead into the break, Hofstra would steal the momentum and got goals from
Lauren Coletti and Mennella to make it 6-5 in favor of Towson with 10:49 left in the third quarter. Neither team was able to capitalize on their chances over the next few minutes until Towson took a 7-5 lead with 4:05 left in the quarter. The Tigers would finally find the back of the net with just under eight minutes remaining to retake a three-goal advantage. The Pride got goals from
Kerry Walser and
Grace Pupke in the final six minutes to get to within two, 9-7, but Towson was able to hold off the Pride in the waning moments of the game before tallying a meaningless goal with four seconds remaining.
